Hi Steven,
I never had their albums "back in the day" but got to appreciate them later. Always liked Sandy Denny - my Sister had the Fotheringay LP. That was a bit more 'progressive' folk, almost rock(ish) stuff - well worth a listen, holds up even 30 something years on.

Sandy Denny had one. Folks that can sing clearly and hold a note for more than 3 microseconds seem to be rare. Most of what I enjoyed from that type of music was the history behind the songs. Steeleye Span was another favorite group. Some of their songs contained bits of history that begged one to dig for. Who, listening to "Jack Hall" would think it anything other than about a man who was hanged and not about how public hangings were traditionally done.
