Hey, I posted this message on the Apple Discussion website as well and haven't gotten any advice (that works) yet.
"The remote app is now not displaying my playlist contents now. It says there are 0 or 1 songs, when there are many more than that. It was working fine until I think the last update. What's going on? The playlists have all their content when I manually go to them and look at their contents, but browsing their contents remotely is where the trouble is...
As a note, not all of my playlists are stored on the ATV. Most of them are still on my computer. That never was a problem before... Is that what changed? If so, that stinks... "

"I've had issues like that with playlists if it is the same 2 songs repeated over and over in the playlist: Remote app will only show them once, but otherwise it works as expected.
I'm sure you have forced a sync with the Apple TV and iTunes to make sure that's not the issue?
I would try deleting the device from your Remote App and then try to re-connect to see if that fixes it. Next step would be to delete and re-install the Remote App "

Tried a forced sync-doesn't help.
Tried deleting it from the ATV and repairing it. No luck.
Tried deleting it from the phone and repairing it. No luck.
Tried deleting the application from the phone and re-downloading it and repairing it. No luck.
