My question is.
I have 60gb PS3 that is supposed to be able to play SACD's. I want to know if hooking the PS3 to a Yamaha YSP4000 sound bar via HDMI would generate good result when playing SACD's. Not only stereo L/R channels but the full 5.1 feeling.
Thanks

The sad story confirms why you are having problems. SACD looks to be 5 feet under...
Well for what I have heard that article is wrong. The reason why the writer cant play SACD on the PS3 is because he is using and optical connection to his A/V receiver. It has to be connected via HDMI. Now I dont have the YSP4000 yet thats why I am asking if it would work. The YSP4000 has HDMIs inputs.
I don't have all the details of the YSP4000 but most likely it will work and probably the sound will be quite nice, though in my expectation not quite as nice as with a discrete 5.1 speaker system.
For more information about SACD on PS3 check the PS3 SACD FAQ at http://www.ps3sacd.com/faq.html
