I was one of the "lucky" 50 to have Samsung address this "possible problem". After finally getting a call from AT&T Connect Tech to set up the service, the appointment was set after some parts were to be delivered to my house. The agent told me I should be hearing from the service man soon and that if I hadn't heard from him by Friday (1 week later), call back to confirm appointment time.
Surprise, surprise...no call, so when I called on Friday (today), I was informed that AT&T Connect Tech was told to not do the repair(get this....), because soldering inside my house was a liability!!!! I asked what about the parts shipped sitting in my living room and what I was supposed to do, and I was told to please return them and contact Samsung! Of course I called Samsung to see what was going on and they were unaware and that the repair appointment was still showing valid to please call back AT&T Connect Tech!
Samsung HD Tech - Thanks for your attempt to humor us with this post, but your company is bogus! I guess I'll spend the $150 to have the "possible problem" repaired at some fire resistant facility. Good luck to the rest of you. I personally will never buy Samsung again. Please contact me about the class action suit, as well.
Update...I continued to try to call back to AT&T Connect Tech last night (Friday) after my post on this site to try to resolve the apparent miscommunication. I was a little more than frustrated as you can tell above. Apparently they either closed or were ignoring my calls. So off I went through the internet to see if I could find anyone else getting jerked around. Needless to say, after you start to type "Samsung clicking..." into the Google search bar, Google gives you a few options to select (signs that quite a few folks are typing in such issues). I ended up on this YouTube link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mm51C_RDIZE) where some guy and his kid demonstrate how to fix the problem.
It is very easy! I've never soldered, so I went down and picked up a soldering iron and set off to attempt to do what Samsung or AT&T were afraid to do, liability or house burning down be damned! I am now parked in my favorite spot watching college football on my tv again.
Take my advice, fix it yourself and don't get jerked around by these people. I'm not letting Samsung off the hook that easy though. I'm posting everywhere I can and letting EVERYONE I know how Samsung treats its customers. I wish the rest of you the best of luck!
I WAS ONE OF THE 50 AND TODAY THEY CAME OUT REPLACED THE POWER SUPPLY AND MY TV WORKS! WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT ONE OF THE 50? WILL YOU BE DOING ANOTHER 50 OR WILL THEY DO A RECALL ON THIS PART? TY PAM
I got tired of waiting for Samsung to get off their &%^ and decided to fix the problem myself. Changed the 4 1000uf 10v capacators with 1000uf 18v. Total cost $9.40 and 1 hour of my time. Set works ilke the day I purchased it. Real easy fix for an amature like myself, just take your time. My set is a LNT-4061F.
If so many people are experiencing this issue, why is it not a product defect that warrants a free repair? I've had my LCD 46" Samsung for about 2 years and just about 6 months ago it started taking 2 or 3 minutes to show a picture when I powered it on cold. Once it came on, it had red pixels all over the screen and would only clear if I turned it off and on again. Thankfully, once it is hot it comes on fast, but that first cold power on takes ages.
That's awesome, would you mind posting some instructions? I imagine most of the people reading this have little experience identifying and replacing the capacitors.
Check out this thread, it has pics of power boards, how to identify bad capacators and replacement instructions.

OK. Now that you have repaired everyones TV that has the on-off issues. How about helping the ones of us that have spent $100 to $600 to have our TV's repaired on our own. This is a Samsung problem that should be taken care of. You know the power supplies were bad and Samsung should step up and fix/or repay all the other persons that have either repaired their own TVs or had the repair done by a TV repair person.
Has a list been posted that shows the 50 people being included in the program? I sent an e-mail almost 2 weeks ago and haven't heard anything back yet, no phone call, e-mail anything. I'm just wondering if I'm included in the 50 or if I need to spend the money to get it fixed myself.
In case you weren't being sarcastic, I can definitely assure you that even the 50 people who made it onto the list have not all been serviced. I am still waiting for even a phone call.
Hi i know it been a while since my last post but please dont forget your international samsung consumers im still wating on some kind of resolution from the bahamas PLEASE DO NOT FORGET US AS THIS IS ALSO AN INTERNATIONAL ISSUE SO PLEASE SEND SOME KIND OF ASSISTANCE I AM LOOKING FOWARD TO HEARING FROM SAMSUNG WE MAY BE ABLE TO FORM A NETWORK AND I AM WILLING TO ASSIST IN ANY WAY POSSIBLE.
Mr. Samsung. How about post 255.
My Samsung lives! The part arrived yesterday, repairman arrived today -- it took 10 min to switch out the old board and put the new one in. It was definitely bulging capacitors -- three of them to be exact. I took pics and watched the process - just in case it happens again. The repairman put in the same voltage capacitor, but the new board appeared to be a different brand.
I'm sorry for the folks that didn't make it into the program, but I am appreciative that you took the time to create the program and get it fixed promptly.
For those that are thinking of doing the repair themselves, it really did look pretty simple. I looked at board and although I've never soldered anything in my life, it looked do-able. Hopefully I won't have to do it in the future, but I would consider trying it myself if it happens again.
Thanks again, Anthony and Samsung. I'm now returning to my regularly scheduled programming - and catching up on the DVR.
My TV just stared with the on/off issue lastnight! I'm very bummbed out. I called Samsung today and let them know about the issue, which she was not sure about for some reason. She said she would put in a claim even though my TV is passed the warranty because I have had a TV replaced before this one and have had work done on this one already. If they deny my claim from this issue I think I will throw a fit, if you all don't mind. Seems to me that people have been complaining about this issue for about a year and a half! I'm also currious what my Brother should do with the TV that he just bought under my recomendation?
Could someone post the correct capacitor size that goes on the power supply board for a LN52A750R1FXZA LCD TV? Mine has started cycling and I want to order a few now. Samsung is no help. Thanks in advance for any help!
