Inside CBS News, Robert Joel Halderman was a widely liked and well-regarded producer, known for chasing action and taking chances.
But none of his previous experiences covering wars, school killings and the mob gave any hint that Mr. Halderman might himself become the central figure in a crime story that seemed like fodder for his current CBS program, "48 Hours Mystery."

In interviews, friends and colleagues of Mr. Halderman said they were stunned last week by the news of his arrest in front of CBS News headquarters on charges of trying to blackmail David Letterman for $2 million. The case compelled Mr. Letterman to admit on his television show, "Late Show With David Letterman," that he had had sex with female staff members.
"I said to my mother that this was like her waking up to find out I'd been arrested for this," said Marcy McGinnis, Mr. Halderman's boss for many years in the 1990s as the London bureau chief for CBS.

by what?
Letterman having sex with an employee or Halderman blackmailing Letterman or Lettermans boss having sex with Lettermans employee?
Or all of the above....
Darn Humans.
He is a dirty old man.
His "jokes" about Palin's daughters reflect his own fantasies. He likes young women, and Palin's daughters fill the bill. Like so many other "liberated" men, Letterman has a very specific set of desires.
There are some strange people out there....
We 2 people have the same desires what do you call that? (even if they're not your desires)
Some tell jokes about their fantasies, others preach/condemn about their fantasies.
Until they get caught they're all potential liberated men.
Never mind what liberated women are capable of.
If you have something to actually say, spit it out!
Jack is saying that anyone makes a joke about Palins daughter is reflecting their own fantasies.
Leno, O'brien, Ferguson, and Rivers have told the same jokes as Letterman
So I say anyone that complains about the jokes is also reflecting their own fantasies.
.
See the same logic being applied?
I could give examples of preachers and politicians being hypocritical if it will help prove my point. (but I'm not going to do it again)
Perhaps if everyone posted a joke I'd be able to tell what they think is funny. And I could do a profile on them. ![]()
or is it fact that seems like fantasy?
But sex might top firearms.
