Today, on the subway, after my 80 GB iPod Classic finished the current song it was playing it mysteriously turned off. Nothing I did was able to revive it (not even the reset procedure or connecting it to my computer). The screen is just black.
I'm not sure if this has anything to with it but I bought a pair of Sony MDRE11PB headphones (those cheap $12 ones). But a couple days ago the bass on the right one died so I went in and replaced them today. I noticed the new ones shocked me a couple times in the ears. Could this have caused my iPod to die as well? I've read that getting shocked by your headphnes is common and harmless, so I'm not sure what to think here.
EDIT: problem solved. The reset combination I was trying was wrong. Went to Apple.com and did it their way, works now. :P
That's nice to hear. thanks for sharing this information
