XPS 630 vs. XPS 435T

by badsubby - 6/18/09 7:49 AM

Hi guys,
I'm planning on buying a new DELL pc but I'm a little confused between xps 630 and 435T (not the mini tower).

With XPS 630, I get a nice chassis, 750W psu, quad core, and a 9800gt sli or gtx 285 but the motherboard is 650i and we all know about the x8 lanes.

With XPS 435, I get an ok chassis, 435psu, Core i7 2.66ghz, x58 chipset, ATI 4850, etc.

So, what should I do? On one hand I get a nice case with future upgradeability and on the other hand I get the core i7 and a not so "gaming looking chassis". I'm really confused and need some guidance. All advices/suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

The 435T may be a good computer.
I have had mine 3 1/2 weeks and still can't use it.
Dell doesn't seem to care so it's going back.
Lots of luck.

What’s your budget and what are you using for? I’m more than happy to provide you information, but I need to know more details. :P

I've had my XPS 435T now for 2 1/2 months and love it. It's 64 bit so it supports 6 gigs of RAM. I am very happy with it but the first 24 hours were terrible it crashed on first boot up and Dell was horrible, fortunately I bought it from Microcenter and they were great and just switched it out for a new one. This one booted and ran great best computer I've ever used.
When I walked into Microcenter that day I was going to build a computer I had my researched shopping list in hand and one of the salesmen said I couldn't build one for even close the price of this computer.
He was right and aside from the initial problems I love this computer. I'm just not going to ever talk to Dell again
