Samsung STAR Program

by Samsung_HD_Tech Samsung staff - 6/1/09 12:01 AM

Forum Members,

I wanted to take a moment to highlight a program that Samsung has been running since 2005.

<b>A quick toner-cartridge fact:</b> It takes between 3-liters and 1-gallon of oil to make a typical laser cartridge.

According to a recent study by Infotrends, nearly half of all used OEM toner cartridges in the U.S. and Western Europe are thrown out instead of being recycled. That's a lot of toxic material buried in our landfills. With SAMSUNG's Free Takeback and Recycling (S.T.A.R.) program, SAMSUNG makes it easy to recycle.

1. Just pack your old cartridge in your new toner box
2. Apply the label (if included) or print one out
3. Contact FedEx for a free pickup or drop it off at any FedEx, free of charge

If your cartridge doesn&#8217;t come with a label or you have an older cartridge, just go to www.samsung.com/starus and print out a free pre-addressed FedEx shipping label. SAMSUNG will recycle them properly, making sure they don't end up incinerated or in a landfill. We will even recycles the box it's shipped in.

<b>This isn't just for the United States.</b> You can find your country here, and be redirected to the recycling program in your region: (it may not be available in all regions)

I've personally used this program several times and it just couldn't be easier. Print out an addressed, paid Fed-Ex ticket, and you're good to go!

This is just one program that Samsung has dedicated support to the environment.

Here are a few others, highlighted by the EPA:

I'm not here to preach, but if you haven't considered recycling your Samsung toners, maybe it's a good time to.

Just think about it. :)

If you have questions, please post them here.

NEVER again.

I purchased a 50 inch LCD tv from you guys. Given that the parts that failed were incorrect parts for the circuit (10 volt parts in a 15 volt circuit) and that customer service only gave me the run around, I will never ever buy a samsung part again. PERIOD.

NO tvs,
NO cameras,
NO cell phones,
NO anything. And I will be telling all my friends at NASA the same thing.

PS. I noticed the stock falling for some time now. Maybe its the quality that is lacking. ?????

N.E.

From the Samsung website cited above:

"....Samsung is investigating how to reuse the recycled materials back into new cartridges.

...in other words, we want the old cartridges, so we can refill them, and sell them again as new.

Hi, Samsung Star phone as been a great boon currently because of it's extra ordinary feature and cheap price. But one thing i felt less in this phone was the camara quality, it's not as satisfactory as Nokia phones. But Samsung t659 is good phone comparitively. You can visit below link to know about this phone.
