Coach_David,
Unfortunately, I have no way of testing this.
Any anyone tried?

Are there any plans to document the MKV/MP4 support that is available in the new firmware? It would be really nice to see an updated manual or an addendum detailing the MKV/MP4 support.
Thank you.
PS - I have had no issues with my BDP-3600 other than the Netflix position problem.
ikesterhaney,
I'm working on getting a compatibility chart, but as of right now, I don't have one.

Amazingly enough, my BD-P3600 did not detect the firmware revision online, so I'm currently downloading the USB version of 2.04.
I did however notice that there is now a link under "Description" that provides limited info about each of the firmware revisions dating back to 1.03 which is certainly a step in the right direction. It woiuld be better however if the info provided was detailed about precisely what is being fixed, rather making them appear to be more along the lines of newer features.

My 1600 isn't seeing the new firmware yet either. Last time it didn't see it until the day after it was released.
Okay, after numerous failed attempts to get this ver:2.04 to take, I finally decided to extract the actual file from it's post-unzip folder and it then accepted it just fine via USB.
I immediately verified the {STOP} --> {RESUME PLAY} feature of Netflix to see that a movie did in fact hold it's position this time, and it does. ![]()
So far so good with this update!

Just a reminder for all you that are Googling looking for reason why your firmware update will not work. It may not be obvious to most but, it is stated in the update document that you must unzip the file you down load.
And only put one update file “BEv2.04_090925_BDP3600_XAA.RUF” on your USB stick.
Goog luck out there! ![]()
TGreene223,
Thanks for the feedback!

I have an old TV that only supports 480i with component output. Everyting wors flawlessly with firmware 1.03 but ever since that update newer firmware "breaks" my Netflix. Whenever I pick Netflix the option the display settings revert back to 1080i or whatever the default display setting is. All I see is flicker. If I switch to the normal old fashion AV cables everything looks fine. Only way to remove flicker is turn off device and turn it back on. That leaves me with 2 choices. Use the regular AV cables with poor picture quality or to use firmware 1.03 that works fine (what I currently do). I don't know what happened but firmware 2.x and later changed something. It was probably not caught during testing since most people use new HDMI TV's. I tested this with firmware 2.02, 2.03 and 2.04. All with same result. Am I stuck with firmware 1.03 until I get a new TV?
FWIW: I see that the file date is 09-25, so it was built last Friday. I sincerely hope there has been enough time to thoroughly test this one, but I guess I'll find out in a few minutes one way or another...

Have the e-content/network problems been with both wired (ethernet) and wireless or only with the latter?
Does anyone know if 2.04 will fix the Mad Men Season 2 / Lions Gate bluray discs not displaying menus, the issue created by 2.03?
After i upgraded to 2.03 i could not play transporter 3, it woudl go through the previews and when it got to the main menu there were no options to select to play movie
i updated to 2.04 last night and am happy to report it will now play transporter 3
Transporter 3 is #3 in my NetFlix cue!
I have a BD-P3600 that I updated to 1.03 over wireless.
All seemed to work ok, until I tried to do any other firmware updates.
Finally I confirmed that I need a new loader version, however so far I have not been able to do that.
I like many other users really like the fetures on this player but have spent much more time than I want to on firmware issues.
So tonight I downloaded USB 2.04 and tried to do a firmware update.
It verified the firmware step 1 and prompted to update step 2, once I said Yes the screen went blue. The player display did not say upload (like it did when I tried a network 2.03) and nothing happened. I finally removed the USB, powered off, then on and it came back 1.03.
So thinking that I need the loader from 1.03. I downloaded the USB version with the same results as 2.04 after step 2 just a blue screen and notthing.
How do I get my player to update the loader?
Until this can be done, it looks like I can not do any firmware updates.
Thank you
