I get a popup screen every minute (no joke):"The True Vector Internet Monitor has shut down. Do you wish to restart it?"
Why am I getting this, and how do I stop it from happening? I'm not a PC newbie, but this is a first for me.
So it would seem that Zone Alarm has been shut down for some reason. If you did not install Zone Alarm or it was not installed from the vendor, investigate that issue. If you did install it, then something is trying to interfere with it, check for an intruder.
Some time back, I had issue with the free ZoneAlarm on a Vista loaded system(mine). I found out ZA was the cause and removed it. I now use PC Tools, free firewall and it runs good. Your error status is ZA caused and it shutdown ZA so it won't interfere with the system functions. That leaves a non-firewall protected system, use either the Vista provided one or any other in its place. OH yeah, my problem was about 7-8mos. ago and ZA didn't at the time offer a fix, but return to later date of ZA or not use it until fix. ZA, does have a forum at their support website, see if a fix is available to your related problem.
What maybe happening is ZA and Vista firewall are at odds with each other(only one needed). That also includes Windows Live Care or defender pgm., it defers to the Vista firewall as well. You may want to verify Vista firewall is turned-OFF, check under security setting.
