Email Notications still come with no Alerts subscribed to.

by PudgyOne - 9/28/09 3:54 AM

I removed CNET Tracker and I also unsubscribed to all email notifications for any items listed. I keep getting email notifications of new versions available and do not want these subscriptions.

Your email notification program is NOT working like it's supposed to. I unsubscribe and still get notifications?

Hey Rick did you check your Download watch list?

Take a look, is anything on this Download watchlist of yours?

http://www.cnet.com/techtracker/watchlist/

TechTracker and Download watchlist are two separate things. So if you still have items in your Download watchlist then you will still get update emails.

Let me know.
Thanks!

I had to go down a list of 27 items and unsubscribe to every one of them.

Has to be an easier way.

BTW, ther email came through with the subject blank.

Guess that was never fixed. ;)

There is an easier way Rick.

If you go to your watchlist and above the list there is section called "Alert Delivery Preferences", if you want to keep your list, but stop getting alerts via, all you have to do is set the "Alert frequency:" to "never" and you shouldn't be bothered with any more emails.

If you simply want to delete all your watched items, to the right of the "My Download Watch List" title, there is a "Clear list" button that you can use to delete everything.

Another way is to simply go to your list with all the check boxes, select the first check box that is right next to the arrow pointing down (check that should select everything on your list) and click the "Remove" button. And that should delete everything on your list.

As for the blank email--yup that problem was never solved. :D And as you can see it's not a forum issue, but more of a global issue with our email delivery, with all the examples you've given me in a past, they will have plenty of clues to go on. :)

Thanks Rick, let me know if you have any other questions.

Hope all is well!
