Windows Safari 4 add-ons?

by chris_sundown13 - 6/9/09 9:25 AM

Firefox and IE both have plugins or add-ons for the browser. There are allot of them for Safari for Mac. Are there any extras for Safari for windows? Like a safari ad blocker?

Nope...

Apple has (still) failed to deliver the third-party support that even Internet Explorer now enjoys. In addition, Safari 4 for Windows uses more RAM than its competitors and, according to most early performance tests, is still slower than Google Chrome, despite Apple's claims of Safari being the fastest browser. For Safari users, it is a definite upgrade, but for the rest of us...

I've just switched from FF3.5 to Safari 4 and so far so good, I was myself thinking that no add-ons are available for Safari 4 but I was wrong, I did a quick search earlier and yep, loads ! try the site: www.pimpmysafari.com as a starting place. Then have a look through:
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=safari+4+plug+ins&btnG=Google+Search&meta=&aq=f&oq=

and
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=safari+4+plugins&btnG=Search&meta=

Should be enough Safari 4 Plugins available to get most of what the firefox addons provide, for me anyway, YMMV .

peace beats n love

Plug-ins for windows not MAC

by chris_sundown13 - 9/26/09 9:27 AM In reply to: plenty plugins available by misplacedmarbles

pimpsafari only has plug-ins for Safari for MAC. I couldn't find any plug-ins for Windows. So I am running Firefox till I can get Safari add-ons for Windows.
