D-Link travel router DWL-G730AP

by Georgia in MS - 9/23/09 8:44 AM

To run the set up wizard for the router, according to D-Link, I type http://192.168.0.30/ as the URL. When I do, Google says they can't find this address and gives me a list of suggested web pages. I need to configure as a router for the hotel room internet wireless.

Then I changed from Obtain IP auto to Use following IP
192.168.0.99 (someone suggested this number - I don't know what this number really should be)
SUBNET 255.255.255.0
default gateway: 192.168.0.30

This did not work either. Will someone please advise me on how to get into the setup wizard?

If I understand correctly, you can access the internet through the DLink since you are able to open a Google page. Go back to the setting to obtain IP automatically. Also, if you're not wired directly to the DLink, it's best to configure it this way for initial setup.

Then (in Windows XP) left click on the network icon in the lower right toolbar, which brings up your Local Area Connection Status. Select the "Support" tab. The Default Gateway displayed is the address of your DLink (assuming that's the way you have it connected to access the hotel wireless). You should then be able to access the DLink's setup page.
