What will the differences be between the new 8500 and 9000 tv? The 8500 is scheduled to be out by the end of Sept. 2009 and the 9000 by the end of the year. Is it worth waiting for the 9000?
hello laverman1, i believe we should wait to see a demo at a best buy or sears before deciding to go with the 8500 series or the 9000 series HDTV by samsung. rumors are that the samsung 9000 series is supposed to have 400hz or 480hz technology, i have a 52" samsung ln52a650 650 series with 120HZ and the picture is stunning with blu-ray disc movies and i got a chance to take a look at the LED 55" inch 8000 series with 240HZ looked even better , there is no blurry picture when i seen this tv displaying KINGKONG at a fry's electronics store. so i cant wait to see the 9000 series, then i will make my choice on what series to go for. cheers to the new age technology my friend...
Right now the only concrete info on differences between the two is that the 9000 is supposed to have a wireless box that you hook your components too and then it send the signal wirelessly to the tv. I think 480hz refresh is speculation at this point and, assuming it has 480hz, I am skeptical that you would see a significant difference between 240hz and 480hz. 9000 has not been "officially" announced with a specific release date yet to my knowledge.
