I have an icon that shows up, by itself, on my Windows XP task bar.
It's mostly blank with a "Question Mark" in the upper left corner.
It only appears occasionally and when it does, I cannot get rid of it.
When I click on it, nothing maximizes nor minimizes...
This has occurred on both XP machines that I have...
The only pattern I can discern is this;
It shows during the boot-up process...
If I happen to see it show up and I move the mouse, it goes away...
If I am not watching the boot-up, when I return to the computer, it is visible and I cannot remove it...
I think it is benign but I would like to know what it is (and it's annoying...).
I believe that it can be your NVIDIA "setting Icon".
It appears to me (a blank icon)sometimes Not Blank. and than go away. and sometimes, it appears also on the above right corner of my Firefox browser. than goes away again.
Michel.
Thank you for your reply.
I have no evidence of NVIDIA software on this pc.
But let me clarify... This is a Rectangular icon that shows in the "running program" space on the Task Bar, between the Toolbar on the left and the Icon Tray on the right. (I may not be using the correct term...).
