Copy Pasting opens up the program files folder
by nsns - 9/14/09 5:29 PMI have Windows Vista, current with windows update and I have antivirus and antispyware software. All of a sudden, when I copy and paste files (which I do a lot, music, documents, etc.), the program files folder pops up (two windows of it, both the same folder). Anyone know why this might be?
Also happens with firefox.
by nsns - 9/14/09 5:31 PM In reply to: Copy Pasting opens up the program files folder by nsnsIt also happens (probably more frequently actually), when I'm closing tabs in firefox using ctrl-w. It doesn't happen every time, but maybe once every 3 tabs I close/ 3 times I copy paste.
Help is much appreciated.

I find it much easier to simply click on the X in the upper right corner of the tab but each to thier own...
My first thought is you have a faulty keyboard or at least a bad "Ctrl" key.. Please try switching keyboards to see if that's the issue.

Thanks Grif, I don`t have access to another keyboard at the moment but I will definitely try that. Any other suggestions would be awesome.

The various service packs fix most such glitches.
And does it happen with all types of copy/paste? With keyboard style Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V and with a mouse/RIGHT click copy,RIGHT click paste, etc.?
