I have Windows Vista, current with windows update and I have antivirus and antispyware software. All of a sudden, when I copy and paste files (which I do a lot, music, documents, etc.), the program files folder pops up (two windows of it, both the same folder). Anyone know why this might be?
It also happens (probably more frequently actually), when I'm closing tabs in firefox using ctrl-w. It doesn't happen every time, but maybe once every 3 tabs I close/ 3 times I copy paste.
Help is much appreciated.
I find it much easier to simply click on the X in the upper right corner of the tab but each to thier own...
My first thought is you have a faulty keyboard or at least a bad "Ctrl" key.. Please try switching keyboards to see if that's the issue.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Grif, I don`t have access to another keyboard at the moment but I will definitely try that. Any other suggestions would be awesome.
New keyboard didn't help - any other ideas?
The various service packs fix most such glitches.
And does it happen with all types of copy/paste? With keyboard style Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V and with a mouse/RIGHT click copy,RIGHT click paste, etc.?
Hope this helps.
