threshar,
I apologize that it's not working for you. Unfortunately, new Java-coding on many of the discs aren't always something that we're able provide a fix for ahead of the release date.
As far as bypassing the warning and previews, it's up to the studios to decide what can be passed. We're required to not allow consumers to bypass what the studios don't want us to.
I've sent this issue up, so hopefully we can have a fix soon.

Guess I'll return this disc to netflix for now since there doesn't seem to be a fix coming quickly.
Sucks for those that have purchased it. Maybe Samsung will refund our money. Haha ![]()
go to the avs forum and see if you can download the fw 2.6 that was available for a short time but pulled out. I've updated my fw to 2.6 back two months ago via usb and have played crank2 on my 2500 unit.
any link to FW download?
Hmm, makes me nervous installing firmware that they remove from the site. Why did it get pulled down and is it going back up anytime soon?
Will it void our warranties if we use it and will be still be able to upgrade if/when the next firmware update comes out?
(Mostly directed to the Samsung representatives lurking).
Thanks.
ElTechno,
I'm not sure why it was pulled. By now, most of the warranties on the BD-P2500/50 may be up, so "at your own risk". I believe the out of warranty repairs if something does go wrong is around $80., but I don't know for sure.
It was pulled for a reason, and unless someone posts that it actually works and that was important enough to me, I personally wouldn't subject my own machine to it, but I'll leave that to the individual to decide for him/herself.

Yeah, that is why I'm not installing it. I'm holding out for a new firmware.
As for the warranty, I sure hope mine isn't almost up. I just got my BD-P2500 a few months ago.
I just installed the 2.6 firmware and it does indeed fix the problem.
Ok... I went to AVS Forums. Could not find 2.6. Would you please post a link, and tell me/us where you got fw 2.6?
Thanks for all your help.
you can go here:
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=16039436#post16039436
and go to post 3748. This is the fw 2.6 that is posted on avs. My unit is for the U.S. so if you have a u.k. player that might not worked as mentioned. If samsung indeed comes out with a new fw, I would wait. I'm always nervous about upgrading fw as some reported it can brick the unit.
UK Users:
Newest firmware for Samsung DB-P2500 does not work with this title, and it appears to be dated around March 2009. The newest fw on the Samsung UK website for this model is not new, dated around October 2008, the March 2009 fw is only available through network connection download. Note also that this is not listed as a product on the front page, but can be found using the site search.
Latest firmware for Samsung BD-P1500 will work with this title, and can be a d/l from the samsung UK site or by direct network connection.
Latest firmware for Samsung BD-1600 also works, and can be obtained in the same way as that of the BD-P1500.
Good luck to all those still trying to watch.
Any new word on when these two features will be added to the BD-P2550 / BD-P2500. Thanks.
