Installing software on a wireless network

by stoneage - 9/14/09 6:12 AM

I am trying to install OSX from a Firewire hard drive connected to my older MacBook to a newer Mac Book (no Firewire). I know of no cable that would interconnect the Firewire HD and the newer MacBook. I was able to start my MacBook in target disc mode and could see the OSX install disc on the newer MacBook, but when I double click the icon, nothing happens. Would I have to set up a new network? It seems everything is working properly, but I get to that point and can't continue. Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Seems an odd way to install MacOSX

I usually use the machine's cd/dvd drive and boot the MacOSX DVD there. If the drive is broken I fix that.
