Hi,
my Toshiba laptop (core 2 duo, Vista) is "Not Pairing" with my Nokia 5530, when both Bluetooth are On, even when both are showing each other devices.
The laptop pairs with many others, while not with some. Is it a fault of the mobile? Is both non-compatible?
Pls. advise.
Thanks.
If it fails and you followed all the directions take both back to each retailer. Ask them to show it pair or refund.
Your post told nothing about enabling discovery or other details so I'll have to go with simple return to shop answers.

Thanks Bob,
When bluetooth is on and I "search devices", both r discovering each other. however, when I try to pair - it says "unsuccessful".
This happens under both cases, thru the laptop, when it discovers the Nokia 5530; vis-s-vis, the phone, when it discovers the Toshiba.
I guess i'll take ur advice and visit the shop (both different).
Regards.
It was not funny that I had 3 options during the pair for the passkey. Only one worked.
I'm being a little coy about my bluetooth knowledge. I've been writing applications for PalmOS and Windows Mobile that use bluetooth since about 2004 so the pairing issues have me wondering why no one has made this any easier.
