Receive and send FAX via your computer

You probably have to have a modem with FAX capability, although most do have it these days. Then you need some software. I used WINFAX Pro for many years, and it worked like a charm. I haven't looked, but it seems to me that Windows XD has FAX software available, but you will have to search for it. FAX software can be very complicated to set up, so getting a machine is the right thing to do.

Sending fax via computer

Windows FAX is built-in with Windows XP Pro. It was available with Me.....and even '98.... It is a Window's component which must be installed. I used a Voice/data modem which came with my laptop (4 yrs old). Setting up ws easy with the on-screen instructions.
