I have recently purschased the LN52B550. The ToC (touch of color) is not coming on. Any suggestions?
mdlrnc,
Touch of Color is a design of subtle color infused into the panel - it's not something that "comes on" or is a toggled feature. Your model, the 5-series, does not have Touch of Color.
I hope that helps.

That's an odd reply -- I bought a 46" 550 last month through Amazon. It was advertized as having "touch of color" AND the box it came in, which is marked as being a 550 (as is the model number on the back), states right on the box that it has ToC.
My unit has never shown the ToC feature, which is why I'm checking this forum. Anyone else know anything?
Thanks,
Dan
I believe what he is talking about, is that the ToC is just the slight addition of charcoal...or grey, to the outside frame,(pretty much just means that the tv looks pretty
as opposed to some of the panny's with that awful silver on the bottom....but i digress) and the reason he said its not on the 5 series, i assume is because the person asking has a LN52B550 meaning its an LCD, because i have a PN50B550 (plasma) and it definetly has it, so i assume the plasmas got in on the 550 series and maybe the LCD's didnt? just a guess as i am a self proclaimed idiot.
The ln52b550 has the red TOC. I think the O.P. is asking if it "turns on". The answer to that is no... the ToC is not a feature that lights up in any way, it's just translucent red plastic around the border of the frame of the set.
