The XP1 was waterproof - the XP3 takes this to it's natural conclusion by being not only waterproof but capable of being totally submersed in water upto a depth of 1 metre and is IP-57 certified. The old model would withstand a 1.6 metre fall onto concrete wheras the XP3 is now upto 2 metres.

by birdmantd - 9/6/09 6:55 AM In reply to: Check out the Sonim XP3 by outaruVery interesting phone but the only thing to keep in mind that if the phone is used in the US that it lacks the 800/850 mhz frequency so it would only work on the 1900 mhz frequency which is not available in all markets.
