Any word on the Atlanta meetup this week?

Tom mentioned a meetup this week while he and Veronica are in Atlanta for DragonCon.
Has a time and place been determined?

Has there been any news on a Meet-up?

Unfortunately given their schedules and where they might be staying, the logical place to meet is some lifeless, colorless tourist bar/restaurant downtown.

ugh

I find it a shame that attendees at Dragon*Con never venture out into the (real) city of Atlanta proper, but stay close by the sterile environs of the host hotels.

We will be having our meetup in a lifeless hotel bar. The Marriott Pulse Bar actually. http://www.marriott.com/hotels/photo-tours.mi?marshaCode=atlmq&pageID=HWRAL&imageID=3

Probably Saturday though not totally nailed down yet.

The reason for this lifeless location, 'cause I sympathise with Francis, is that it's primarily a Sword and Laser meetup and all the Sword and Laserites are likely to be downtown too. Plus it allows for underage folks to join since it's a hotel, and it's flexible on the size and doesn't require reservations.

We do the same thing every so often in San Francisco even.

So there you go. Please BYOL (bring your own liveliness)

Lively Swords and Lasers

Well its not as though I was suggesting that the Meet-up be at the Clermont Lounge http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clermont_Lounge.

But given all the constraints of time, transportation, convenience and the kiddies the hotel lounge is a good location.

The debonaire Veronica Belmont and the lovely Tom Merritt provide all the atmosphere the venue needs.

My wife and I have been anxiously awaiting news of the location for the meetup since we rarely make it to SF. So, I am happy that it is in Atlanta and somewhere close to where we are staying for the con. Lifeless is OK.

I went to the Clermont last year for the first time for our Bachelor/Bachelorette party during Dragon*Con and I *still* haven't taken enough showers to get it off me.
