I currently have a BD-P1600 player that was working very well up until I updated the firmware to the latest version. Now when attempting to play most DVD's, the main menu does not display, which makes watching non- BR discs difficult at best.
To add insult to injury, the firmware update also seems to have disabled my Ethernet connection. Two different cables have been used, multiple ports on a known- working router have been used, to no avail. Even setting up a static IP on the player has not resulted in any fix.
Has anyone seen a similar issue?
Jason
Hi Jason,
I have tested DVD playback this minute and here menus DO work fine.
Since FW updates may set the player back to default settings you may want to check your player's setup and 1) set the languages (menus should be somewhere in there) and 2) reset your ethernet settings.
Good luck!
Right, it worked on your hardware, which wasn't negatively affected by the update.
I've reset the firmware twice to no avail. Ethernet settings have been reset several times, but it hasn't made a change.
