Take a Screen Print?

Open the document, take a screen print, paste that into your image editor, eg Paint.

Print & Scan

How?

It's not green, but you can print the document & scan it as an image. If you have the original, scan it as an image.

That's the best I can come up with. ;-)

Some Adobe Acrobats allow you to "SAVE AS" into a .jpg, etc.

Depends on original source and what you want to use it for

If the source of the PDF is a program such as Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator etc. (or if the document was 'printed' to PDF) then the definitions of the graphics on the page are embedded in the PDF, so use a conversion program.

If, however, the source is a scanned document, you neeed to find the best resolution screen you can, zoom in to the area of the page you want - full screen, press Alt+Print Screen and paste the result into an image editing program (I use MS Paint for the first attempt, as it allows you to correct a few pixels - dust on the scanner window...) - it may even be better to take parts of the image in this way, to get a bigger image of the result - you can always resize the resultant image afterwards. I use this process to reproduce vectorial images of parts of architects' plans from scanned originals, using the (handy feature) of paint that gives the X/Y position of the cursor to measure distances on the original plan.

What about resolution?

I've read the 1st 6 replys to this and seen some interesting ideas. What comes to my mind is, how do you keep the resolution of a large pdf file (large image, physically) with a screen shot which has only the pixel count on your screen? I think you'd need a converter which captures the original resolution of the pdf file and converts it to a bmp or jpg. The converters suggested in these posts may do that. Bear in mind that the pdf file may not have been created in a large format. I do architectural drafting and I can make pdfs of my 24x36 inch drawings as 8 1/2 x 11 up to 36x48 or probably larger. When you print a small size pdf to a larger size, it gets very choppy.

Keep resolution of the PDF

To "printscreen" of the PDF is pretty easy but if it is a really large PDF, screenshot is not your choice. You need to get some PDF to Image converter, here is a recommended one: http://www.axpdf.com/pdf_to_image/pdf2jpg.html

By the way, it is suggested if it is a text PDF you can convert it into PNG in order to get a small image with clear texts.
