She's not eye candy. She has very valid and insightful thoughts on tech...ok, she's hot, let kid around here...

Look they all have quirks...

by audai - 8/19/09 10:20 PM In reply to: Molly Wood Leaving BOL 6 days a week??? by tzadiknistar

That's what make them human:
- Tom with his rude interruptions to be the one to explain the story...or to get in a point (usually a bad pun)

- Natalie with her "Let's move on" staple segue

- Brian Tong with his mm-hmm, mm-hm, mm-hmm

- Molly's "Wow, Really?" and sing-songing some three syllable word.

- Veronica with the mega overuse of "Slippery Slope"

... whatever. But Molly is great for the show. Her rants are without true-thought sometime, but they are funny, and her pace is good for the show. Molly is good, and needed. Plus she is the last of the Grammer Police that everyone needs.

Irony...

"Grammer Police", vs. "Grammar Police".

Molly Stays

by tsaot - 8/21/09 4:28 PM In reply to: Molly Wood Leaving BOL 6 days a week??? by tzadiknistar

Molly Stays.

If the show needs ANYTHING, it's a co-host who isn't afraid to get mad on the air. It also needs a constant female voice. I'm tired of most of my tech podcasts being in the male vocal range.

With that in mind, Let's get Molly Wood and more female guests in on the show. Amber MacArthur, Sara Lane, and... why not, Terry Gross. (Seriously, Molly Rocks. If you doubt, go listen to Gadgettes).

Here is my deal (manifesto) fellow BOL listeners,

by tzadiknistar - 8/21/09 5:23 PM In reply to: Molly Wood Leaving BOL 6 days a week??? by tzadiknistar

Here is my deal fellow BOL listeners, I have been a long time BOL listener, In episode 1040 20 min in, Molly, Rafe, and tom were talking about the Zune HD, talking about why some companies do not allow you to touch the product at the show, you can just look. Tom asks "what is that thing, this watch cannot leave this mans arm" Tom goes on "no seriously what is up with that, why show off a product but not really show it off" then molly says "I don't know, I wonder if it is to fend off.. It’s either. It’s either." then Rafe made the best analogy for something you get to look at but cannot touch. Rafe says "you have never been to a strip club have you" great point Rafe! And molly goes off.. That was the straw the broke my molly, up until then she would do her rants and it was ok because she was off on a tangent about some company, but I realize now that molly rant is molly just beneath the surface and I for one done like her anymore.

It comes down to supply and demand, there is a huge demand for the show, I am not detracting from the fact that Molly contributes in a great way to the BOL podcast, what I am saying is that she can be annoying and for me her annoying behavior and antics have outweighed her contributions, especially now that there are so many qualified people who can potentially fill in and possibly do a better job both in delivering relevant humor, criticism, and skepticism to the show. Before you attack, just read the rest of what I have to say.

I am loyal to the show and therefore bring this up, I view the audience as a progressive forward-thinking crew, We are not at a town hall where you just yell at me for bringing something up that you disagree with, I should not have to chose between acting like a Sean Hannity listener where I just agree, or leave the show. I would like to contribute to this show that I love. And I am open to constructive criticism; the episode 1040 incident may be something that just hit a nerve for me because of a similarity to an old girlfriend etc. It is because of that possibility that I posted here amongst my fellow listeners precisely to get your feedback.

maybe not bitter...but very harsh.

I think of the BOL crew to be like family. Through the highs, the lows, the awesome, and the annoying, i am by their side.

dude, you need therapy

by Chappy1 - 8/22/09 11:07 PM In reply to: Here is my deal (manifesto) fellow BOL listeners, by tzadiknistar

I can sense some emotional issues in your expressions of concern for molly - the negative experiences with your girlfriend now being projected on your opinion of Molly.

Your other post about Molly possibly reacting to the male dominated show by using her rants as a means to establish her female authority was revealing as well.

Tell me, what was your childhood relationship with your mother like. How does that make you feel? ;-)

Relax, I'm just joking. Nobody needs to call me troll and start branding me with the insult du jour...

If she goes......I go

by kalel33 - 8/30/09 4:14 PM In reply to: Here is my deal (manifesto) fellow BOL listeners, by tzadiknistar

I almost left when Natali took over for Molly. Luckily, Cnet heard us and split the workload so that I get enough weekly dose of Molly. I like her straight forward approach/rants with the knowledge of a true techie....you can't say all of them have tech knowledge. I even watch Mailbag and Buzz report.

I've been listening for almost 1 1/2 years, but the loss of Molly would end that in a heart beat.
