recording

When I set my d.v.d. to record a programme it stops playback before the end of the show...very annoying when it is a mystery...I programme it to go over the time stated such as asking it to record for 2 hours instead of the 1 and 1/2 hours the programme goes for but that makes no difference. Could someone help with this. The recorder is a Topfield and the t.v. is an Akai. Thanks a lot.
I asked this question previously but I am still having trouble getting the whole programme. I have studied the info. book but still cannot get it right. Help please.
I think you chose the wrong forum. This is about PC's. Try Home Audio and Video.
Let me summarize. You've got a Topfield DVD-recorder. What model? Not a hard disk recorder, I assume. Never heard of Topfield, by the way, but it might be BIG where you happen to live; but just as well it could be the worst Chinese maker you've ever seen.
And how do you program it? Just simple basic start-time and end-time? Or via some directory that tells it should start at 9:30 and should finish at 11:00? With the basic start-time and end-time the recorder doesn't know the concept of a "program". It just records whatever it receives.

I learned to add a few more minutes to the record time. So I wonder one thing. You didn't tell if the 2 hours recorded 2 hours or 110 minutes. Tell me how many minutes it did record.
