I lost my ms office home student cd, what can I do?

by leganx - 8/17/09 4:28 PM

I want to do a clean install when I get my windows 7 upgrade.
I have been looking for my msoffice cd but it seems it got lost when I moved ( I am sure it is in some dark corner of a box I missed)

Is there some way I can get to download it from MS and re-enter the key? and how do I find that key?

Thanks for your help

Microsoft allows you to download trial versions.

So just download that and activate it with your key.

Dpwnload a program called Belarc Advisor. This program will give you your hardware stats and software stats of your PC including keys to the software.

Thanks for the answers.

But luckily, and emptied the boxes last night and found the disk.

I kept looking for a yellow CD/DVD case , but is it turned out, the disk was mailed by MS in a cardboard envelope. That is why it was so hard to find.

What you can do NOW.

That CD can be duplicated with ease. Now find a case, label it and put it in the other place you store such things.

I usually have all my back up software in a box, but somehow this one slipped out.

Keep a record of the key in a doc

and store it on a flash drive. The key itself is more valuable then the disk since you can download the trail and enter the code.
