Ok, I will try to give you as much information as I can. If I missing something that will help with dx then let me know.
So once in like 6 mos all of a sudden it wouldn't turn over. I would let it sit for a few hours and then try again. It would turn over and run perfectly for months and the randomly do it again. I believe this happened 3 times. The last time was a few months ago and hasn't started since.
At first we would turn the key and the lights would come on but nothing would happen. We tried to charge the battery with our other call and it would charge for a minute and then died while it was charging then we tried again and it wouldn't charge at all. After doing this we tried a couple of days later and not even the lights came on so we knew the battery had died.
My husband I took the starter out and had it tested but it was good. We took the battery in and it was completely dead. We bought a new one, and now the lights are working but still the vehicle will not turn over and there is no clicking or any sound when turning the key.
Would love any other possible ideas. Oh and the fuses are all good.
Thanks Kelley
update: there is no smart key to this vehicle and I have tried the neutral positioning and that is not it. My husband and my father did mess around with it and when removing the starter my husband hit the frame with it and it sparked..scared the crud out of him but he couldn't get it to do it again. They are thinking it is a grounding issue now but have tried several things and none have worked. I have read about the PCM and wondering if anything thinks this might be the answer of if you have any other ideas.
