my current vista system works fine why a os that has been ripped off weith things that i use ? beacuase of brussels? no way , for me EU in brussels is one money machine that i do not benfit from ..
I've been running Windows 7 RC for a couple of months now and can only say that this is how Vista should have been like. Vista is great and I haven't had any problems with it, but Windows 7 is just faster, takes up less memory and seems to support hardware better (nvidia drivers were automatically installed when I installed Windows 7 RC, while I had to install them manually on Vista).
All good then but only as long as the price is right. Since I haven't experienced any problems at all with my Vista installation the price has to be fairly low for me to upgrade.
NO. My Vista Home premium working well. PC has been more or less rock solid for many months. Why rock the boat ? All new systems have snags, and PCs are capricious enough as it is,so I shall definately leave well alone until Vista is incabable of doing something new that I need to do.
Will I upgrade to Windows 7 when its released?
Well the answer to that is no. The reason been is that I have Vista and from what I have seen and read, there isn't that much difference between Vista and Windows 7 that would make it worth while updating my OS. Fair enough if you have XP, then yeah they might be enough reason to upgrade.
Personally I have always found Vista a very good OS and I find it gets a lot of slating from people who have got a too low spec'd PC/laptop to run it, I will admit Vista is a resource hungry OS but IMO providing you have a PC/laptop with a 2GHZ CPU and 3GB ram (ideally) then you should be able to run Vista with no problems.
Previous from me having Vista I was running XP for 5 years, I must admit that I now prefer Vista much more than XP, I find Vista is a lot more of a user friendly OS than XP, I find this especially when I need to fix problems on my friends PC which has XP installed.
I have a desktop PC with Vista on and my other half has a laptop with Vista on, both the machines run with no problems whatsoever with Vista and I have never had any slowness or sluggishness like others have mentioned regarding Vista. The desktop PC has 4GB ram and a 2.4 GHZ CPU and the laptop has 3GB ram and has a 2 GHZ CPU.
I won't be updating my desktop PC for around 3-4 years as I don't think its worthwhile has I normally get a high spec'd PC and in doing this I find it doesn't need upgraded for at least 3-4 years, plus trying to sell a secondhand PC (even a highly spec'd one) in my experience means you are nearly giving it away due to the massive amount of money you lose when upgrading sooner than the times I have mentioned above..
My next PC will have Windows 7 on, unless there is a better and newer OS released when I am next upgrading my computer.
XP Pro works great for me. I see no reason to upgrade.
I am happy with XP and am running it on 3 home networked boxes. I don't want the hassle of updating all 3 boxes, which I would have to do if I want to continue the network. There is also the associated potential problems with drivers. I could go for W7 Professional to get the XP emulation but the cost is significant and for what gain? I suspect also that there will be a few hitches with W7 so I'll wait until the bugs have been ironed out and perhaps the price comes down.
No. I heard all this crap when Vista first hit the scene. It was better than XP and so. Well, I have both XP and Vista top of the range 64-bit and it has been a night mare. I do not edit pictures with it any more, as it always locks up or a Blue screen comes from no where. I have never had problems with XP Pro. It still is a better OS no matter what the so call experts say. I am waiting for Google OS to hit the seen in 2011 and that where I will go. Good reddens to Microsoft, this Vista has cost us all a lot in new software/hardware and still does not work right and Microsoft seem not to care. Roll on Google OS and then they will care.

Yours,

I will purchase and install the new Windows 7 as a fresh install on a different hard drive in my Vista PC, so that I have a dual bot system.
I have been trying out the pre-release RC1 of Windows 7 and I like it. It seems stable and responsive, and it installed very easily.

How about "cannot upgrafe with present PC".
My existing Dimension 4550, 8 years old, is too underpowered to run 7. But if I see a good value in November with Windows 7. I might be tempted.
No I shan't - because I have access to MSDNAA, and will be upgrading next week.
No thanks, why pay more for an upgraded vista, I will stick with XP thanks, Bought Vista, installed it, 2 weeks later returned to XP. Anybody want to buy a my Vista, am I allowed to resell it. Don't want a visit from Microsoft Police.
I am happy with XP Pro and the cost is just too much for an older computer to make it worth it.
I'm uncertain. I'm currently running the 7 RC version and so far so good, e.g., I've not had any of the Vista "permission to _____" requests which drove me crazy in Vista. If things continue to go swimmingly, I'll say goodbye to Vista and hello to 7.
I like Windows XP.
I made this mistake with Vista. I keep all my computers on XP. Upgraded one to Vista about 1 yr after it was released. Always trouble with that PC. Including, Microsoft just caused me to loose ONE WEEK OF MY LIFE, trying to install SP1. TWICE it crashes my computer with blue screen of death after 8 HOURS of rebooting and making noises. Then, I have to restore from a disk image. I'll wear out my machines and as they go, I'll switch to Apple.
