by ANEWMadrid - 8/6/09 10:31 AM In reply to: LG 47LH90 picture settings by katzmaier ModeratorCNET staff

Hello,

I have this TV and tried to calibrate as CNET has suggested but I am confused on the 10 point below. I don't get the whole numbers then in parentheses i.e 100 (13 -1 -50)
- 10 point IRE calibration
IRE: [Red, Green, Blue results, respectively, for each IRE point]
100 [13, -1, -50]
90 [16, -2, -46]
80 [18, -10, -45]
70 [15, -9, -39]
60 [8, -13, -35]
50 [6, -15, -33]
40 [-5, -22, -35]
30 [1, -16, -25]
20 [-10, -20, -24]
10 [-5, -10, -14]

RE: 10-point IRE calibration 47LH90

by kazuya1274 - 9/16/09 11:46 AM In reply to: 10-point IRE calibration 47LH90 by ANEWMadrid

The way I set mine up is I went to each IRE, starting with 100. Then I put 13 for red, -1 for green, and -50 for blue. Then go back to IRE and change it to 90, then repeat per the corresponding settings.

What I'm wondering though, is if you set IRE on 100, do the settings stay there? I don't understand enough about it to know how it works. Does the TV automatically cycle through the IRE settings (10-100), or should you adjust it based on some kind of preference?

Amazing picture, one complaint/question

by wjgeib - 10/9/09 8:41 PM In reply to: LG 47LH90 picture settings by katzmaier ModeratorCNET staff

I picked up my 47LH90 for $1400 (on 10/07/09) after returning a Samsung LN46B650 that started turning itself off and on repeatedly less than three weeks after purchase.

The picture on this set is amazing. I am not experiencing the audio sync issue that many people have complained about (I also called LG and confirmed that I have the most recent firmware update).

My only complaint pertains to the True Motion feature. When turned on (low or high), artifacts are noticeably visible. On the Samsung, I was able to customize the blur and judder (10 blur reduction, 2 judder reduction). I am unable to do this on the LG.

My question is this: is it possible for a firmware update to separate blur and judder controls, and if so, is it in the works?

Thanks!

LG 42LH90 white balance settings

by ravichandran71 - 12/9/09 8:12 AM In reply to: LG 47LH90 picture settings by katzmaier ModeratorCNET staff

i am in KUWAIT. in middle east and asia region, LG is selling the LH90 models without THX certification, picture wizard and 10 point IRE white balance function.

in our middle east models we have only given with white balance adjustment through red/green/blue- brightness and contrast(there is 10 point IRE)(3 adjustments for RED/GREEN/BLUE brightness and 3 adjustments for contrast ranging from -50 to +50).

i saw in LG 42LH90-USA website user manual, they have given both option to adjust white balance through two methods
method 1- RED/GREEN/BLUE brightness/contrast
method 2 - 10 point IRE
(page no.75 in LG 42LH90 USA user manual)

so you have both methods in UAS models and we have only one method to adjust. so you can make adjustments in your USA model with RED/GREEN/BLUE brightness/contrast theough method 1 and publish/send readings.

I want to make the adjustments for my LG LH90 as per your setting readings published in your CNET website, but i have no 10 point IRE and i have only RED/GREEN/BLUE contrast/brightness, please give the equvalent setup reading for RED/GREEN/BLUE contrast/brightness readings( equvalent to 10 point IRE). Which will serve the customers from outside USA, europe.
