Native Resolution not working for LN46A650 in Windows 7

by DarkForestZero - 6/2/09 10:57 AM

In windows 7, I can get just about every resolution EXCEPT 1920 x 1080 (the native resolution). Everything was working fine when running in windows XP when running my LN46A650 in 1920 x 1080, using a VGA cable with DVI adapter. Mobo and display drivers (HD4770) are up to date. The TVs firmware is 2008.9. Does anyone know how to fix this?

BTW, when I do switch to 1920 x 1080 the screen goes black and the tv displays a "Mode Not Supported" message.

you dont have an HD video card. although lcd computer monitors usually go way above and beyond what any LCD TV can do. but your video card just cant display 1080 prob.

Actually, the problem turned out to be the HDMI cable... It couldn't handle the 1080p signal. A $5 cable from amazon did the trick
