I made the mistake of accidentally dropping my old Smart phone when i was with my older brother we were swimming in the pool and hot tub and i forgot that i had my Blackjack Samsung (the first model one) in my swim trunks and my wallet and everything in there as well and i loved that Smart phone that i had it was my first cell phone/and first Smart phone period that I've ever owned. When i was looking at cell phones for my first cell phone ever i jumped right into the Smart phones and i have never looked back. But now that my Samsung Blackjack contract is up (this Month infact July).
I have been doing many reading up on Blackberry's and the iphone's. Since that's what i am debating on and deciding on is one of thoses.
From countless Blackberry forums i have browsed i have heard many people both (long time Blackberry users and rookies) have good and great things to say about their Blackberry Smart phones. But i've also heard many owners of iphone's say many good and great things about their iphone's.
And i have still not made up my mind, but i want to take my time and decide and make the right purchase.
But what i do know is that i want to get completely Tech Savvy (a lot more tech savvy with my NEXT Smart phone purchase). Since my first smart phone the Blackjack i wasn't that Tech Savvy with it. But i really want to get right in there and get my hands all dirty and get into the meat of things with my next Smart phone (with things like Apps, and Themes,a Smart phone with a great sense of community etc) which ever one that i do purchase for myself so i can feel that i made the right choice.
I have it narrowed down to either the Blackberry Curve 8900 (At&t carrier) or the Blackberry Bold 9000 (At&t carrier)
I have heard that the Blackberry Curve 8900 lacks the 3G support so i don't know how well it does which such things as Downloading Apps and Internet Speed. and Blackberry's Bold 9000 Wi-Fi web browser isn't that easy to Navigate.
And i also don't know how well Blackberry's App World is. How Blackberry's App World grown in size (with Apps to download and worked out all the bugs).
And i have Small fingers/small hands so both a Full Qwerty Keyboard and Touch Screen both work for me. That's not a issue or a problem there. I'm a e-mail user and SMS/MMS Texting user as well i'm big on that.
I just want a great Smart phone that gives me the best out of it for along time to come. And this time i NEED to buy a great case for my Smart Phone since my Blackjack Samsung didn't have a case so a great and solid built sturdy case is a MUST.
Thank you for reading this rather windy post and again (i'm keeping everything open on what i'm deciding to get since i want to weigh everything and make the right Smart phone purchase for myself)
My carrier is At&t.
Thank you once again to everybody that read's this post and takes the time out to reply to it and too help me out since i've never owned any Blackberry's.
From what I can see, you would like to know more information about BlackBerry devices, especially the Curve 8900 and Bold 9000.
First of all. If you are considering signing up for a 2 year contract. I would like to remind you that the successor to BlackBerry Bold 9000, the Onyx 9020 will be released between September and November. It has the higher resolution display found on the Curve 8900 and the 3G capability found on the Bold 9000. Considering that you will be tied up to the phone for 2 years you might want to wait for a few more months and get the Onyx.
Compared with Windows Mobile based smartphones, such as the BlackJack, BlackBerry devices have a more user friendly interface, are more reliable (Partially because similar to Apple's iPhone RIM has implemented more restrictions for third-party programmers and end users.) and has a longer battery standby time. Compared with the iPhone BlackBerry is more business centric and of course allows you to run more than one application at a time. The QWERTY keyboard does make a lot of difference when it comes to type messages. I can type on the iPhone without much problem, but no way as fast as I do on BlackBerry.
The lack of applications on BlackBerry is an obvious issue. And the price for BlackBerry applications are much higher than even the same one for the iPhone. Games are available though limited. But BlackBerry does have plenty of productivity applications.
Between the Curve 8900 and Bold 9000, I will definitely pick the later. Curve 8900 does have more pixels and smaller size. But the extra pixels don't really make too much difference on a small phone screen and the Bold 9000 is by no means bulky. Having 3G on the Bold 9000 is a big advantage if you frequently use data intensive applications such as downloading files, watching YouTube, etc. And having 3G also means you can have data and voice communications simultaneously.
