Application launch issues

by davidcho02 - 7/9/09 7:15 PM

Hi,

I have Windows XP running via BootCamp on my MacBook.

Occasionally, when I double click an icon to launch the program, the properties menu of the selected program will launch instead of the desired program. (For example: If I double click the Firefox icon, the Firefox "properties" window will launch.)

Also, when I manually open this program from either the start menu, or Run program, the application is unable to use the keyboard. Such as not being able to type in a web address in Firefox.

I also think its important to say that a restart fixes these problems, but not a log out and back in.

Thanks.

So it works pretty much like Windows does for most of us?

Not to tell you what you already suspected but are you sure you did this proper? BootCamp required XP SP2 and installation while easy was still a few more steps than most like. For instance those drivers.

Are you sure it is "XP" that you installed?

NO I am asking what was used for the install, not what it reports after you update.

Second idea. Stickykeys.

Turn off, disable Stickykeys. What is that?

Research XP STICKYKEYS on your favorite search engine.
