Digital cameras: Please Help...Canon SD1200 or the Sony W290

Please Help...Canon SD1200 or the Sony W290

I have been doing tons of searching on both of these cameras and I cannot seem to decide which one is best.

I currently own a Canon point and Shoot, and it's been wonderful for the past 4 years.

The appeal to the sony is the 5 x optical zoom.

I think that they both would have decent picture quality, and are good camera brands, even though I personally would buy the Canon instantly if it also had the 5 x optical.

I was just hoping for some advise/thoughts from people who have used either of these cameras.
