PN50B850 vs PN50B860

by bohoops - 7/6/09 1:13 PM

Does anybody know the difference between these two items PN50B850 vs PN50B860. The Samsung web-site specs show that they are identical. I called Samsung and spoke with a tech who told me there was nobody there who knew the difference and that there is no customer/sales support, just technical support. I can't imagine calling a company and being told that there is nobody I can speak to that knows anything about their products. Amazing!!!

Just compare these two reviews/spec sheets on CNET alone:

The 850 has one of its four HDMI ports on the side. 860 has them all in back. The 860 has 2 x USB connections while the 850 only has one. Very subtle differences I see anyhow. To some folks this type of thing does matter though.

The 860 has Cinema Smooth - an enhancement to the HD engine. The 850 does not have Cinema Smooth.
