help needed please when my comp starts up i get the message cannot find`c:\windows\media\csrss.exe` any ideas what this means or is doing to my system thanks in advance

Looks like malware to me.

The csrss.exe process should be resident in C:\Windows\System32, (or similar location if you are using any Windows other than XP).

If you have any other instance of this file elsewhere on your system it is likely to be malware.

Look at this AnswersThatWork web page for more details. Scroll down to csrss.exe and you will see two entries.

Open up your MSCONFIG and check your Startup list. If the entry is there, de-select it.

Then I would start running your anti-virus and other anti-malware utilities to check for malware.
