Possible Backdoor Trojan has infected my computer?

by ARMIEKIM - 7/3/09 4:51 PM

I was told on another computer support forum that my computer was infected with a Backdoor Trojan, after I gave in logs from Malwarebytes software. I scanned multiple times and I did get Trojan viruses in nearly all of them, as well as Rogue bugs and HijackThis bugs. I also used Spybot S&D, but I cannot get rid of a certain bug called "Win32.TDSS.reg"

I recently got rid of the virus XP Deluxe Protector.
I'm not entirely sure what to do now . . . my Internet works, but it's possible that the Trojan bug is still acting on my computer.
The anti-Spyware software I have are: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, SUPERAntiSpyware, and Spybot S&D.

Please help!

this Bleeping Computer forum discussion?

If so, it seems help is continuing there. The last entry was, "Let us know what you decide".

We prefer not to intefere with or duplicate other forum help and advice, so perhaps you should continue with your quest there.

And You've Checked This?

by Grif Thomas Moderator - 7/4/09 12:07 PM In reply to: Possible Backdoor Trojan has infected my computer? by ARMIEKIM

Please follow the instructions below. (Note that not all problems may be present on the same computer but check for them all and remove them IF they are present.):

1.Click on the Start button, select "Run", then type "devmgmt.msc" in the blank area, without the quotes, then click on OK.
2. Once in Device Manager, click "View" in the upper left, select "show hidden devices/drivers".
3. Then click on "non plug and play drivers/devices", and find TDssserv.sys
4. If it's there, right click it, then select disable, then restart the computer.
5. then check if the problem still persists. good luck!

Hope this helps.

Grif
