SATA Hard drive problem!

by rs4r2d2 - 7/3/09 8:23 AM

I am trying to install a new second hard drive that is a 1Tb SATA hard drive. My hardrive i have now is a 250g and works great (thats connected the old fashion way, forgot what its called). I still have my 250g plugged in the usual way and also installed my hard drive through SATA port. I plugged in power and everything. When I boot windows (running off the 250g) it sees the drive but when i try to format it either says "Cannot format" or the program stops responding. Please help I would really appreciate it

My SATA Hard drive is as follows:
Hitachi
SATA: 3.0G/s
Model HDT721010SLA360
RPM: 7200RPM
Rated: 5V 420mA.12v 700mA
LBA: 1.953.525.168 sectors

My motherboard is:
8200 GeForce Motherboard
