Downgrading: Drivers N Stuff

by Tracerbullet7 - 7/2/09 8:18 PM

I have a HP Pavilion Dv9825nr, which came with Vista, which is horrible, flawed, and... horrible. I've decided that I don't want to risk running Windows 7, so my hope lies with Downgrading to Windows XP. I'm rather experienced with Computers, but I've never messed with my Operating System. So: My Questions:

1) I know that I have to make sure that there are drivers available for my computer to run XP. I found these: Driver - Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices Date Version Previous Size
» HP Quick Launch Buttons
08-2008 6.40.8.2 H » Version: 20.97M
» HP Quick Launch Buttons
12-2007 6.40 B - 19.65M
» Synaptics Touchpad
10-2007 10.0.13.2 » Version: 24.26M
Driver - Network Date Version Previous Size
» Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver
07-2008 7.00 E » Version: 7.26M
» HP Wireless Assistant
11-2007 3.00 » Version: 3.32M
BIOS Date Version Previous Size
» WinFlash for HP Notebook System BIOS (for Notebooks with Intel Processors) - Microsoft Windows Vista-Based
12-2008 F.59 A » Version: 3.08M
Software - Internet Access Date Version Previous Size
» HP Update and HP Software Update - Critical Security Update
12-2007 1.00 C » Version: 462.01k
Software - Solutions Date Version Previous Size
» LightScribe Host Software
11-2007 1.10.13.1 » Version: 5.88M
» HP Software Update
06-2007 4.0.6 » Version: 2.64M

Are these all that I need? Or is this not enough? Do I need to find a graphics card Driver?

2) To actually downgrade, do I have to buy a disk version of XP? Or can I "Upgrade" for somewhere around have the cost?

Thanks, if you need more info, just ask. I am DONE with Vista.

It seems to be a walkthrough to accomplish what I wish to attain, but I can't decipher the tech-speak. Am I right? Can someone help me?

That's not tech speak.

That's a fairly clear walk through to install XP. If installing XP is not something you do yearly at least it would seem very hard to do.

Find a friend and show them that and your XP CDs. Have them do that for you.

2 more links to ponder, absorb.

The first link is your generic XP install. The second is AN EXAMPLE of what drivers and the order you might install such in. ONLY AN EXAMPLE as HP must tell you which drivers and what order.
