Digital music: CD problems

CD problems

Im new to this forum but im having a problem and cnet has been good in the past for articles and such. But I recently got some new CD's, some imported and some as gifts and such, but they both have the same problem. I put them in my computer to listen to them and they play the first min of the first track and then stop playing and skip all the rest. This happens in windows media player and itunes. I tried ripping them with itunes and same thing when they are on my computer. I want to put them on my Ipod but I cant get them on my comp. It just says its not able to play the disc it could be damaged, but its brand new out of the case and plays on other things such as in my car and on my PS3.
