What does this mean and why does it matter for vid?
A video is actually a series of still photos.
If you see 30 photos every second, the human eye can not tell that it is looking at still photos.
At 20 photos (frames) every second, the human eye will not see the video as being continuous.
720p@30fps indicates that the video will be 1280 x 720 at 30 frames per second.
1080p@20fps indicates that the video will be 1920 x 1080 at 20 frames per second.
30fps is what we are accustom to on American television.
The video should show smoothly on the screen
20fps will likely show up on the screen as being jumpy.
Not a smooth transition from frame to frame.
720p@30fps can look as good as a High Definition broadcast on any TV screen of a size from 42 inches or less.
With a TV screen larger than 42 inches, you may notice that the picture is not as clear as a Blu Ray DVD played on a Blu Ray HD DVD player.

.
You're talking about the Canon EOS Rebel T1i, right?
It doesn't really matter what model, just wondering what the significance of those numbers means and Why -or- If it should matter;)
