Links time out on many sites, not all

Starting today, links time out on many sites, but not all. Particularly, I cannot log on to my Yahoo Mail. I can get to many sites' start pages, but often the 2nd or 3rd link I click on times out. However, other sites including an image-laden sports site work fine, links and all. The connection is through a wireless router, but the cables are hooked up to the PC. I am now on a laptop downstairs, connecting wirelessly, and there are no troubles -- got through to Yahoo Mail and all links are fast. So I am thinking a virus on the PC, but don't see why some sites would be immune. I run Panda Antivirus. Thanks.

Forgot to mention...
