Yahoo/AT&T DSL?

by FshrKing - 4/13/07 9:06 AM

Hi, I current have dial up. I would like to switch to yahoo/at&t dsl service. How long do I wait to cancel my dial up service. Many websites have the at&t/yahoo service without contracts. When I get to the checkout page, area, it shows contract one year. Should I just sign up and just assume that it's no contract.
Thanks

(NT) I'd call them instead of on line signup.

Questions you'll need to know

Who do you have for dial up, right now?

How long is your contract with your current isp?

If you have fulfilled the contract, then you can switch at any time, without a penalty.

re ATT DSl

by Jo Lynne Lockley - 4/14/07 5:49 PM In reply to: Questions you'll need to know by PudgyOne

Even if your term is up, the company may try to tell you that you were automatically resubscribed, and have to pay to get out. Don't accept it. If you haven't finished you year, you will have to buy your way out.

I would check with ATT about trying the system, however. If you are not well positioned, the service can deliver as little as 200kps, which is n ot worth the trouble.

people pc can be very pushy when it come to trying to keep a customer. Stick to your guns and keep an eye on your CC charges.

Yahoo/AT&T DSL

by jaqflash2 - 4/14/07 8:50 PM In reply to: Yahoo/AT&T DSL? by FshrKing

I have been using AT&T/Yahoo for 8 months. I switched from Comcast Cable which cost $39.00 to high. For $19.95 monthly I like it much better. I also have AOL for Broadband $9.95 monthly. I have had AOL for 11 years and find that it works well with AT&T. I can use them both at the same time. I KEPT AOL because it is easier to move around in than all the rest.

Comcast was really combersome. U will like ATT/Yahoo. They hve a lite verson for $14.95. Check out the web site, no contract.

Yahoo/AT&T DSL not available?!

by chicilus - 2/26/08 1:09 PM In reply to: Yahoo/AT&T DSL by jaqflash2

I signed up for Yahoo/AT&T DSL online, but att told me they couldn't establish the dsl line. How is this possible? Am I stuck with dial-up? I'm still trying to resolve billing issues over the non-existing dsl account with att and I can't believe I have no options.

Absolutely no. It is worse, and worsening

by atran6 - 6/25/09 3:08 AM In reply to: Yahoo/AT&T DSL? by FshrKing

1- I was charged a hundred dollars for the DSL modem which would have been free as advertized, saying the offer has been expired.

2- The DSL modem is Motorolar, that has no ON/OFF switch. User should unplug and plug the power whenever the connection need to reboot and that happens frequently.

3- The speed is inconsistent: 78 kb/s dowloading and less.

4- Customer support technicians have strong accent, cannot hear for understanding, is rude by telling me that my modem or my PC need to be replaced. My modem and PC is still working now when I am writing the reply. It is AT&T connection problem, and the technicians tried to educate me on how to fix that problem while I have BS degree in IT with more than 5 years of work experience.

The reason I select AT&T is that I have telephone service with AT&T, and I do not know whether I can have another DSL provider. I will leave AT&T DSL whenever I have choice. I hope that AT&T read my message in my reply to you and repent.
