There is a software called RD COMMANDER which can do it for you. Start your computer from RD COMMANDER CR-ROM.
It will take a while for it to start since it is done not from Hard disk but CD-ROM.
You will see a Windows environment screen.
From start button, click on system tools or administrative tools (Depending of version). Find an item callet LOCKSMITH with a paddlock as icon.
There is an option to change any existing account's password.Click on it.
Follow the wizzard and choose from the list shown what account you want to modify . It clears up the old password and sets the new one.
Extract the CR-ROM, re-start your computer.
When asked, write the new password and ˇVoila!. It should be done.
I have found several ways through the years of dealing with lost passwords in Win XP. A lot of times all you have to do is reboot the computer into Safe Mode, and then log on as ADMINISTRATOR. You should then have free reign over the computer so go to Control Panel and click on User Accounts, and then you can do one of two things but the easiest is to add a new Administrator Account, and you can then create a new password, this is of course, if you have only created an Administrator Password and not a System Password. KW A+ Cert.
Sorry, but I have deleted your post.
You added an email address to your post. That places your email address in danger of being harvested by forum bots that trawl forums like these so they can be spammed.
In addition, these forums do not allow posts where any procedure that is illegal to be offered. You stated you didn't know if your method was illegal or not, but it is for you to check that first.

some people r even heard of using windows 98 or by DOS for dis, donno how, check it..
hope u may get suceess in saving ur data by minimum efforts
The first thing I would be inclined to try is to take the side off your tower and remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes and then replace it. (If your computer is more than a couple of years old, it is probably a good idea to take the opportunity to replace it).
While you have the side off, it is a good idea to give the interior a good spring clean. This should be done every 12 months regardless. The biggest killer of electronic equipment is overheating and the interior will clog up. A good step by step can be found here - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial118.html
If removing the battery does not work, you could try this -

Good luck
An easy method to bypass the log in screen in Windows XP is to go into safe mood (to get into safe mood turn off your computer by pressing and holding on the shut down key and then when you turn the computer back on you will get a screen that says windows shut down unexpectedly and you will then be given the option to start up windows in safe mode.) and then log into Administrator which doesn't need a password. Once in, go into control panel select your account and remove your password. Note that you cant change the password since you forgot the original one. You can make another password once you restart your computer and go back into your account.
hope this works
enjoy
I've used Loginrecovery.com too. It works.
try clearing t cmos jumper
Hello. =) Hmm. If I am not wrong, if you are using a desktop, especially a Dell desktop, there should be a password jumper when you open the casing. It's been years since I touched my hands on my Dell Dimensons 4550 manual... but let me try to recall.
1. Open up the computer case, and remove the password jumper.
2. Enter Setup by pressing F2 when you boot up your computer. Go to the "System Security" option in the Setup program and press "Enter".
3. To reset system password, hit Enter twice in the System Password option
To reset setup password, hit Enter twice in the Setup password option.
4. Press Esc or F10 (I can't remember which one) to exit Setup, but remember to save your changes! =)
5. Open your computer cover and plug the jumper back into the socket.
6. Enter Setup and key in your new passwords respectively as in Step 3.
I don't know if this will work, but I hope it helps. Haha. x) If you have a password reset disk, use it. =) All the best to recovering your password. =)
Have you tryed using a small program called System info for windows.
It shows all the contents of the computer one part called "SECRETS"
good luck
You should have several accounts in C:\Windows|Documents and Settings, one should read Administrator, another should read All Users and the third should be an account with your username. Thee may or may not be a fourth as well, called Default user.
When you use your computer normally, you should be using the account with your username - even though you've assigned it Administrative privileges I know, I have. This way you have a back door to the system via the Administrator account should the very same thing happen as has happened to you. If you passworded THAT account, and you lost it, then apart from completely reloading the system or getting a password recovery programme; you're really in trouble.
The best thing is to leave that account strictly alone. If you can still log on to your computer, and you've set a password, then you haven't lost it! If you have a pen drive, put it on there, then at lest if you have more problems, you can still see it - when you plug it in, just click on "open to view files on this drive".
Hi ,
If you have the admin right : type : control userpasswords2 and you may change the admin password
Many times your can enter through the back door. Most folks do not set an administrator password which enables this back door.
Simply press and release F8 while booting into windows to enter safe mode.
Click on the administrator icon to enter as the administrator. Go to the control panel and select user accounts. From the user accounts you can reset your password.
Keep in mind that if you encrypted any files associated with that account, you will not be able to access them.
Hope this helps.

get OphCrack (using torrent is best, it's big).
burn iso to cd.
reboot Computer with CD in drive.
Use brains and wait. Could take 10-60 Minutes.
Mostly works!
You need to boot up in Safe Mode. From there, I think you should be able to change or reset your password.
