Hi,
I am using Windows Vista and IE7. My specs are:
Windows Vista Home Premium SP1
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz 2.40 Ghz
4 GB RAM
32-bit Operating System
I am using Nvidia GeForce 8600GT Graphics Card and onboard sound
I am using a 250 GB HDD partitioned to 2 Drives C: and D:
I am using AVG antivirus and Microsoft Office 2007
My computer is linked to a router then to a modem for online access if it is of any help. Still the same even if I link direct.
I frequent a forum derived from a game in facebook.
The problem I face is most obvious from this forum as the icons stop loading after a few minutes. Then the whole forum structure go bonkers. I cannot post. I cannot reply. I cannot do much but wait for it to load and ultimately many "x" start to appear.
My facebook also faced the same problem of not loading properly with many "x" for most programs.
Seems like amongst friends, I am the only one with this problem. My girlfriend using XP with IE7 does not appear to have this problem. So does my forum friends.
However, it would appear that facebook is the one with most obvious problems. The rest of the sites that I frequent are fine.
I have tried to google my way for answers. Similar experiences were shared over the net but their answers are not mine.
I have downloaded CCleaner and it does not help. I have also disabled almost every add-on in IE7 and only enabled a few as and when required by the site but still does not solve the problem.
I am at my wits end and it is very frustrating for me keep having to refresh and hopefully it can successfully download everything for use and shortly "x" again.
Anyone out there who has similar experiences and solved the issue would greatly appreciate your guidance. Thank you in advance.
This sound like a compatibility issue seen with IE8. Are you sure it's IE7 running? If it is IE8 (the upgrade could have installed in Win7 automatically) you simply place the site's URL in the compatibility list. I had the same problem as you describe with IE8 trying to load www.google.ca.
Thank you for your suggestions.
I think I posted the wrong subject title as I was thinking of IE7 and not Windows 7. I am using Windows Vista. In any case, I have just upgraded to IE8. So far so good except that I cannot multi-task in facebook as it only allows me to login one account at any one time.
