When I told her the video was a nice option... She reminded me we own a FlipHD... I said, yea, but this way you don't have to bring them both places.
Anyway, I have pretty much decided not to get it unless my 3G breaks or something. Will likely skip this rev. Bad move ATT, had you not charged me extra, I would have impulse ordered the 3GS the day it was announced...
I agree - AT&T is holding to "we have a 2-year plan" ... which while legitimate is short sighted.

How does it hurt AT&T if current users aren't allowed to upgrade before their "upgrade period"? Either way you are on AT&T's network. Honestly, why to iPhone users think they are special and should be able to upgrade early when no one else out there can?
Now we have to lay in them. Its like getting a credit card running up a bill and then whining that you actually have to pay down the balance.
Phones aren't free and somebody has got to pay. iPhones didn't magically go from $499 to $199 overnight. The extra money you used to pay for the 1G iPhone (that AT&T now subsidizes on the 3G) is being made up month by month. You cut the terms of the contract short and AT&T loses money. Its a simple economic equation. Being a "loyal customer" doesn't come into play.
I get the business dynamics behind the who deal, but it stinks. This is going to hurt Apple in the long-run. AT&T can suck it!
