FireFox sounds like it is loading, but then I can't find it. I look in Windows task manager and it isn't there. I uninstalled and installed to no avail. Any suggestions?
I am running XP Pro on a Pentium 4 running at 3.06 GHz with 1 G of RAM
Go Start->Run and enter firefox.exe -no-remote -p into the dialog box. Using the options in the window that appears, Create a new profile, select it, and start Firefox. If Firefox runs normally, you have a case of profile corruption, which is addressed in the forum sticky. If not, a more complicated problem is afoot.
Let us know.

A Profile box popped up and I did a new profile. But although the drive sounded like the program was loading when it stopped, Firefox was no where to be found. It isn't in task manager either.
But because of your suggestion . . I have found a least two incidents of Firefox on the hard drives in my computer. So . . . I am going to do a clean up of all those files and then reinstall and see if that will work.
I appreciate the help. Thank you.
