Read what this tool does and...

by R. Proffitt Moderator - 2/12/09 4:43 AM In reply to: Recycler by zema88

It's all about Autorun.* files on the drives, memory stick, CD/DVD, etc.

Grif has a very good statement about using MBAM and SUPERANTISPYWARE at http://forums.cnet.com/5208-6122_102-0.html?forumID=44&threadID=319857&messageID=2925588&tag=forums06;posts#2925588

We need AUTORUN EATER since not everyone can remove the autorun.* files from an infected CD.

Had the same problem others had, even went through and reinstalled windows completely not realising it would be that easy to fix.
At least I have a clean system again got a bit cluttered over time.

Trojan Autorun.inf

by M_Hanvey - 3/16/09 5:17 AM In reply to: Still on the computer by vzimmermann

I had a load of autorun files on my drives, they came as this trojan virus, messed my computer up proper, couldnt run my computer properly, funny changes of the screen setup, internet explorer wasnt working properly, kept redirecting me eveytime I tried to windows update, and what pissed me off the most was that it was telling my computer my hard disk was RAW not NTFS so could not read properly or defrag or chkdsk.
Look for a program called "comboFix" sorted my computer out.

What a hero! I've had this same problem and couldn't access either of my hard drives. I've been looking for the last hour for a solution, until I saw this reply. Downloaded 'Autorun Eater' and installed it and it solved the problem in seconds. Thanks very much for the advice.

'recycler\s

by cyberriver - 3/22/09 10:39 PM In reply to: Windows cannot find 'RECYCLER\S- by 530caddy

I do not know much about PC but, I deleted this file
'recycler\s-9-4-95-100002701-1000017113-100005979-5459.com from my computer, a mistake of mine. I can not double click on the (D:) or (C:) to open those drives.

I have a use computer made with IWill modem. I have to Windows xp PRo student version.

Question is how can I get or find another file like this file again ?

Please read the above replies.

That message is the result of some malware. You can fix it fast, in seconds by installing what everyone else did.

Wipe It. clean

by mikeh77586 - 4/6/09 12:32 AM In reply to: (NT) Format? by Kees Bakker Moderator

If all of the other data that you have stored on this pendrive except for the recycler has been backed up elsewhere, then I suggest that you use this tool and format the drive to permanantly get rid of the recycler. Format the drive to wipe it clean then you can copy your backed up data back onto the Pendrive.
